Old Blush (introduced 1789), also known as Parson's Pink Monthly, Old Pink Daily, Old Pink Monthly, and Common Monthly, has been grown for over Old Blushtwo hundred years, and with good reason. A China, Old Blush is easy to grow, features loose, semi-double flowers, and has very reliable repeat bloom which begins early in the season and lasts well into fall.

Flowers are light pink that deepen with age, and while they do not last as long as some, they are constantly replaced with new blooms. Growth habit is full and upright to four feet or more, with excellent disease resistance. Fragrance is sweet and not overpowering. Hips are excellent. Old Blush should be planted and allowed to fend for itself; do not feel the need to fuss over this tough customer.

To complete the recommendation, many roses' lineage can be traced to Old Blush, so it is a pivotal rose in the history of the species' cultivation. It is highly recommended that rose gardeners find a place for this historic and beautiful plant in their gardens.
