Gamble Award for Fragrance
Sponsored by the American Rose Society, the Gamble Award is highly sought after and extremely difficult to win. How difficult? At the time of this writing, no rose has been awarded the Gamble Award since 1986. Roses are judged for fragrance, of course, but in order to be honored with the Gamble Award, roses must also be disease resistant, vigorous in growth habit, and the blooms must have excellent form, substance, and color. Finally, all winners must have proven to be commercially popular for at least five years.
