Floribunda rose Day Breaker is another rose honored by the All-American Rose Selections committee. I’ve been on this streak with that bunch (the AARS) so I might as well keep it going with another dazzling rose, should you be inclined towards Floribunda roses and their ilk. The blooms themselves are stunners, a light orange-apricot (I remember the heartbreak of Tropicana so well…). To Day Breaker’s credit, the roses last a long time cut or on the shrub, fragrance is a nice Tea rose scent, and flowers come in wave after wave throughout the growing season.

A very popular climbing rose, Joseph’s Coat can be found in almost every garden center. The reason for the popularity is the unique color of the blooms, a bright orange-yellow blend which mature through shades of orange and red. Flowers are produced consistently; at any one time, Joseph’s Coat will sport flowers of different stages of maturity (and thus, colors - providing the basis for this rose named after Joseph’s multi-colored coat).
Floribunda rose Playboy is an outstanding choice for those seeking a bright and bold garden rose. Single to semi-double flowers of red, gold, and orange are borne in profuse clusters from midseason on. The bright petals surround golden stamens. Growth habit is compact, bushy and vigorous; the glossy, dark green leaves are disease resistant. Winter hardiness is very good; Playboy rose is hardy to Zone 4b.
