Blue roses are nearly always in fashion, although there is no true blue rose. Blue roses tend to be lavender or magenta (magenta is also the color of many red roses as they age). Which leads us to the modern antique rose Outta the Blue (aka Out of the Blue). If modern antique seems an oxymoron, we have David Austin to thank and this is a sincere comment on my part.

Floribunda Rose Angel Face
Floribunda rose Angel Face is a tremendous rose. Ruffled, deep mauve flowers are produced profusely on a vigorous, low-growing shrub which is winter hardy. Fragrance is superb, with the only drawback being that Angel Face is so low-growing that the scent may not reach your nose unless you bend over to enjoy it.

Rugosa Rose Baseye’s Purple Rose

Bourbon Rose Madame Isaac Pereire
The Bourbon rose ‘Madame Isaac Pereire’ is a must for every rose garden. Well-formed, fully quartered blooms are a lovely
color which is somewhere between purple and pink; there must be a designation on some artist’s color chart to describe it, but words are not adequate. Quality of bloom may not be of a high standard on young plants, but be patient because flowers later in the season will reward. Like many Bourbon roses, fragrance is memorable, rich and intense.
