First Kiss
Introduced:  1991, Warriner, USAFirst Kiss
Class:  Floribunda
Zones:  5a-9
Parentage:  'Sun Flare' x 'Simplicity'
Flowers:  Light Pink, 15-20 petals

Size:  2 to 4 feet
Fragrance:  Slight

Of note:  Masses of flowers all season long.
Lovely, pale pink flowers in loose, informal sprays.
Disease resistant.

I love 'First Kiss' because it is absolutely covered with sprays of pale pink blossoms during the season.  When in full bloom, the total coverage of blooms on 'First Kiss' is reminiscent of the classic white Floribunda 'Iceberg' (except the blooms are soft pink).  Flowers are large for a Floribunda, 4 inches across, and of fine high-centered form while in bud.  As the buds open, due to only having 15 or 20 petals, they reveal somewhat loose, informal form.

'First Kiss' has many uses in the garden.   Quality buds, disease resistant foliage, and compact form make 'First Kiss' an excellent bedding rose; informal flowers displayed in mass suggest that 'First Kiss' will be excellent in the cottage garden or mixed border. Combine with blue or silver or white, and success is ensured.
