Cramoisi SuperieurRose Cramoisi Superieur
*Known as 'Agrippina' in Bermuda
Introduced: 1832, Coquereau, France
Class:  China
Zones:  6-11
Parentage:  Seedling of 'Salter's Crimson China'
Flowers:  Medium red; 2", cupped, double

Size:  3  feet
Fragrance:  Light to non-existent

Of note:  The red flowers hold their color very well, not fading as so many red roses do.   Excellent repeat flowering.

Small, medium red flowers are borne in clusters repeatedly throughout the season on a plant which remains full and bushy.  You may notice that an occasional petal will be streaked with white.  'Cramoisi Superieur' would be a good choice for those who seek a smaller growing red rose of classic cupped form and an excellent choice for those who tire of their red roses aging quickly to magenta.

Disease resistance is good, although as is typical of China roses, winter hardiness is not a strength (hardy zones 6-11).  A climbing sport which grows to twelve feet was introduced by Courturier in 1885.
