Cottage Rose
Introduced:   1991, David Austin, U.K.
Class:  Shrub / English
Zones:  5-9
Parentage:  'Wife of Bath' x 'Mary Rose'
Flowers:  Light, warm pink, cupped rosette, 3".
Size:  4 x 3 feet (warm climates)
3 x 3 feet (cool climates)
Fragrance:  Light

Of note:  Excellent re-bloom throughout the season.

'Cottage Rose' is not yet easily found in America, perhaps because it is just now becoming available on a widespread basis.  'Cottage Rose's' lovely, soft pink flowers are, to my eyes at least, superior in color to the blooms of its famed parent 'Mary Rose'.  Time will tell whether 'Cottage Rose' can match the other excellent qualities of her parent.

Blooms are produced in abundance throughout the entire growing season; 'Cottage Rose' does indeed meet David Austin's goal of developing plants of old rose character that rebloom reliably (although, there have long been roses which rebloom throughout the season - for example, Souvenir de La Malmaison - one of the best).

Growth habit is bushy, covered with medium green foliage.   Unfortunately, 'Cottage Rose' has only light fragrance.
