Céline Forestier
Introduced:
1842, Trouillard, USA
Class:  Noisette
Zones:  7-10
Parentage:  Noisette x Rosa odorata
Flowers:  Primrose yellow; large, cupped

Size:  Climber to 8 to 15 feet
Fragrance:  Good.  Rich, spice

Of note:  Seldom without flowers during the growing season. Good disease resistance.

An excellent climber which is always in flower.  Between the spring and autumn flushes, flowers are produced to a lesser degree throughout the entire summer period.   The flat pale yellow flowers are attractively borne on a vigorous grower.   Eventually reaching fifteen feet, the stiff canes are clothed with disease resistant, light green foliage that is rarely troubled by disease.  Fragrance is excellent.

Many Noisettes are not given enough credit for winter hardiness.   While not hardy in the northern United States, 'Céline Forestier' can thrive as far north as zone 6.

Recommended for growing as a pillar or fanned on a trellis.
