Introduced: 1984, David Austin, UK Class: Shrub / English Zones: 4b-10 Parentage: 'Wife of Bath' x 'Lilian Austin' Color & Form: Buff yellow/apricot, 3-4", rosette Height/Width: 4 feet x 4 feet (warm climates) 3 feet x 4 feet (cold climates) Fragrance:Slight Of note: Softly colored flowers are produced in large sprays. Susceptible to powdery mildew. 'Bredon' bears buff-colored flowers in clusters of ten or more blooms; flowers are rosette shaped and may reach four inches across. Repeat bloom is very good, but deadheading should be done faithfully. Fragrance, unusual for a David Austin rose, is slight. Growing to three or four feet in height, 'Bredon' may have the occasional bout with mildew. Foliage is red when new, maturing to glossy, dark green. Named to honor Bredon Hill, found near David Austin's nursery in Hereford and Worcester. |
