Description
As indicated above, the interesting characteristic of 'Archduke Charles' is the color of the blooms; attractive, rounded buds open to reveal crimson petals whose reverses are pale pink.  As the flower matures, the entire bloom ages to crimson.   Blossoms are freely produced in clusters throughout the entire season, with flowers of superior quality occuring during spring and fall.

'Archduke Charles' loves hot weather.  Performance may be disappointing in cooler climates, even those with mild winters such as the Southern U.K. or the Pacific Northwest of the United States.

Growth habit is somewhat upright to four feet (or more in really warm climates).  Disease resistance is good.  Due to good substance of the petals, 'Archduke Charles' makes an excellent cut flower.
